UPDATE on this old posting- note the new email address, Melinni@gmail.com. Also note that the Frederick AA meetings are no longer in existence. Wednesday nights AA meeting is now from 6-7 pm, not 8:30-9:30 pm. There is a new meeting at the Triangle club on Thursday nights from 6-7 pm. All other information in this post remain the same. Thank you, ASC– for posting this.

I would like to emphasize that the AA meeting in Frederick is limited to those who seriously think they may have a problem with alcohol/drugs and to those who are members of AA. Anonymity is an important foundation of the AA tradition. As we all know, Deaf community is a very tight knit community- anonymity is a big issue for many deaf who want to get help, but worry about confidentaility.
*Note: Open discussion meetings are open to anyone who think they may have a problem or are members of AA. Closed discussion meetings are closed to AA members.

There are interpreted AA meetings in DC. Information below:

Tuesdays, Gay AA meeting (open discussion) 6:00-7:00 pm at the Triangle Club 2030 P Street NW (few blocks from Dupont Circle Metro) located between Lustre Cleaners/Cafe Japone restaurant

Wednesdays, AA meeting (open discussion) 8:30-9:30 pm at the Dupont Circle Club, 1623 Connecuticut Ave NW (one block from Dupont Circle Metro) located between Lamdba Bookstore and Melody Records, 2nd floor.

Sundays, AA meeting (open discussion) 12:00-1:00 pm at the Dupont Circle Club (see above for the address)

Feel free to email me at Melt@sprint.blackberry.net if you have questions or would like a ride to the meetings.

Hi,

I did not know about this vlogpost until I went to my OLD account
and saw an announcement of your vblogpost. Because I rarely use
my old account, please use my present account, jeanbout@verizon.net.

I, too, did not see the mention of your vlog on DeafRead until I read above. I must agree with Shawn that DeafRead should have explained.

It is good to hear about AA group in Frederick.

ASLforLife,
Thank you for sharing the interesting link with us. It is sad that only a few states received a B grade and none an A. I can imagine it is even worse for Deaf services. The link is more about the general hearing services!
